We believe that all students can and must learn at high levels of achievement. It is our job to create an environment in our classrooms that results in this high level of performance. We are confident that, with our support and help, students can master challenging academic material and we expect them to do so. We are prepared to work collaboratively with colleagues, students and parents to achieve this shared educational purpose.

NEW INFORMATION ON THEĀ  2012-2013 7TH GRADE TDAP REQUIREMENT
We were recently informed by the Ohio Department of Health that commencing with the 2012-2013 school year, Ohio’s immunization law now requires all 7th grade students to have a Tdap vaccine before entering 7th grade. A recent TD vaccine will no longer meet the legal requirement for 7th grade entry, which means any child who received only a TD vaccine must now also have a Tdap vaccine before entering 7th grade.
The Tdap vaccine helps to protect your child against not only Pertussis (whooping cough), but also Diphtheria and Tetanus. Please contact your child’s doctor to see if your 6th grader has already received this vaccine or will need to get one during this school year.  If your 6th grader has already received the Tdap vaccine, please send verification of this record into the clinic at your child's middle school before school ends. This record must be on file before the start of your child's 7th grade year. For questions please contact your child’s doctor, the county health department or the clinic staff at your child’s school.

Attention Sixth Grade Parents
All 6th graders are required by Ohio law to have a Tdap or TD booster vaccine prior to entry into 7th grade. Whooping cough is currently prevalent in the community and the Tdap vaccine is now required to help protect against not only Pertussis (whooping cough), but also Diphtheria and Tetanus. Please contact your child's doctor to see if your 6th grader has already received this vaccine or will need to get one during this school year. If your 6th grader has already received the Tdap vaccine, please send verification of this record into the clinic at your child's middle school before school ends. Gifted Identification and Focused Acceleration Testing Spring 2012
Dublin City Schools provides enrichment opportunities for all students through rigorous academic work and differentiated instruction. Testing for gifted identification is offered to all students in grades 2,4,6,8, and 10. According to the state of Ohio, gifted identification is achieved when a student scores in the 95th percentile or higher on a nationally-normed standardized assessment of achievement (i.e. Stanford) in a subject area or scores 126 or higher on a nationally-normed standardized assessment of cognitive ability (i.e. OLSAT). The district also offers second opportunity testing for students seeking gifted identification or focused acceleration consideration twice a year. In most cases, gifted identification is not required for your child to have access to advanced coursework. When considering whether or not your child should choose to participate in this testing opportunity, please review this document.
