As
required under the new final NCLB regulations we are posting to our web site
the following required information on Public School Choice and Supplemental
Education Services.
We
currently have one Title I school in School Improvement Year II. This school is Daniel Wright
Elementary. Public school choice has been offered to the students of Daniel
Wright during the 2007/08, 2008/09, and 2009/10 school years.
Students
attending Daniel Wright Elementary (558 students) were offered the opportunity
to attend other schools within our district. Daniel Wright students were offered Bailey, Chapman, and
Glacier Ridge Elementary Schools.
They are also permitted to request a transfer to a community school.
In 2007/08
we had one student request a transfer from Daniel Wright Elementary. During the 2008/09 school year no
student requested a transfer from Daniel Wright.
Since Daniel
Wright is in School Improvement Year II, we are required under the NCLB
regulations for the first time to offer Supplemental Educational Services, free tutoring. This information will be
forthcoming. A list of SES
providers is available in the office and through Ohio Department of Education’s Provider Lookup.
The
district has set aside funds from our Title I allocation during the 2009/10
school year for transportation of students who choose to utilize Public School
Choice, and for Supplemental Educational Services.
